Carolyn Eden is an experienced Yorkshire actor, comedian and broadcast journalist. A relatable, intelligent performer, she has been working in the industry for over 25 years.
Recent screen credits include: Dr Hawthorn in Impromptu Session, lecturer Fran in Mind the Gap and Abi in A Sorta Fairytale, which was recently awarded best Rom-Com on the festival circuit.
Carolyn’s quick wit and strong comedy skills led her to become a founder member of the Women’s Comedy Workshops, facilitating with Dr Natalie Diddams. She writes and performs in stand up, sketch, improv, drag, and lipsync, often involving puppets. As a qualified teacher, she was recently invited to lead comedy persona sessions at Leeds Conservatoire, as a guest lecturer.
Carolyn’s natural comedy timing and journalist training has been put to good use in her radio work, which includes hosting Unsporting Behaviour with Adam Pope on BBC Radio Leeds and co-presenting and producingThe Breakfast Show on commercial radio, networked across the North of England on the station now known as Greatest Hits Radio.
Having been a member of a devising theatre company for many years, Carolyn is a valued collaborator, an Associate Artist with Same Difference Theatre Company and a member of the Displace Yourself Theatre ensemble.
Her stage credits include multiple productions at Leeds Playhouse and Slung Low, Where’s Vietnam? and Ref! with Red Ladder, Julius Caesar and Mrs Smile at Bradford Alhambra, Million Dollar Mermaids at Barnsley Civic, and working with Stories by Nicole at Sheffield Theatres.
