THE ACTORS’ GROUP

The Actors' Group was formed in 1980 and was the first co-operative actors’ agency outside of London.

The intention of the agency was to provide personal management for each other and a fair and efficient service to the industry.

THEATRE

TAG (as the agency quickly became known) continues to work in all media nationally and internationally. Since its inception the agency has provided actors for work on the stages of the RSC, the RNT, The Old Vic, The Young Vic, The Royal Court and practically every regional Rep, as well as small/middle scale theatre, children’s theatre and TIE.

FILM TV AND DRAMA

TAG actors have worked in film, appeared as regulars and episodic characters in television series and serials, one-off dramas and can be regularly heard on BBC Radio. Commercials, corporate and role-play work is also covered.
Many TAG members have become household names through their TV and ‘soap’ work. Our members are respected professionals in the business, frequently returning to work with companies, producers and directors. We also have long established relationships with some of the industry's top casting directors.

MEMBERSHIP

Our experienced membership ranges from young actors, to those middle-aged as well as established older actors. The age range spans 18 to 72.

During TAG’s 26 years existence it has served just 75 members - a surprisingly low number which demonstrates the dedication that its members have to the group and the business. In fact the agency still retains two of its original members!

CPMAmember

The CPMA is the representative body of autonomous, independent co-operatives acting as personal managers and agencies for actors, directors and other workers in theatre and mechanical media.

TAG continues to look for actors to complement its current membership, though not forgetting its original premise of retaining a high standard of talent.

The Actors' Group continues to be a successful co-operative and has just celebrated 25 years as one of the North’s leading agents.

Your details will be placed before the membership for consideration. If suitable you will be asked for an interview.

Please note interviews are rarely offered unless at least two members of the agency have previously seen the new applicant's work, felt there to be a suitable place in the agency and their work to be of a high enough standard. However, we are always pleased to be invited to see actor's professional work with a view to them applying.

Particular attention is always given to actors who demonstrate an active and positive interest in the work of a co-operative agency.
